Federalists’ Chergoleishvili: When Federalists come to power, the rule of law will prevail
“When the Federalists assume government, the rule of law will be established in this country. The law will be supreme, not the whims and caprices of any single individual,” Tamar Chergoleishvili, leader of the Federalist Party, wrote on social media.
According to Chergoleishvili, political partnerships must be built entirely on adherence to clear standards:
“Even before reaching government, our relations with every partner and enemy will be governed by rules. We will crush anyone who breaks the rules, while working with those who uphold them. The founding charter of our alliance is itself a set of rules. Follow the rules, and you are in the alliance. If you don’t follow the rules, you can bugger off, because compliance is the sole prerequisite for membership. I tell you with immense pride: there will never be a place for lawlessness wherever we stand,” she stated.
Addressing the role of former President Mikheil Saakashvili and opposition dynamics, Chergoleishvili added:
“I promise you the rule of law, not coddling delinquency, which means Saakashvili is entirely ruled out.
“He is excluded so decisively that we didn’t even need to vote him out. We had no interest in signing up to a document which requires others’ permission to expel proven rule-breakers. Let the rest make excuses for themselves; we take pride in the supremacy of rules within our ranks, and we will win.”
