Firefighters and rescuers from the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) participated in the inter-agency training, Partners 2026, organized by the National Guard of the Ministry.

The training was held in the Imereti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions and comprised both theoretical and practical components.

In the Imereti region, within the Tkibuli Municipality, a fire was simulated at a chemical production facility as part of the training scenario. Firefighters and rescuers and reservists of the National Guard implemented fire-combating and extinguishing works. As part of the training, the team responding to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear incidents also carried out decontamination procedures.

In the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, tactical operations for extinguishing a forest fire were conducted. A helicopter from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Border Police participated in the exercise; it drew water from a specially equipped tank and delivered targeted water drops onto the simulated fire sites.

Temur Mghebrishvili, Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, attended the training, which aimed to improve coordination and joint activities among the agencies.
