Federalists’ Chergoleishvili: Fate laid trial before Georgian people; we will survive these tests
“The regime has laid the groundwork for what should have been our victory to become our defeat instead. This is a trial that fate has brought upon the Georgian people, but I believe we will pass these tests,” said Tamar Chergoleishvili, one of the founders of the Federalists party.
Chergoleishvili was asked about the events that unfolded at the rally in Tbilisi on October 4.
“I believe Burchuladze is Misha Saakashvili’s creation. He wouldn’t have had the power to generate this expectation if it weren’t for Misha Saakashvili. Indeed, a very large number of people took to the streets to protest, rather than participate in the regime’s orchestrated spectacle.
It’s a serious concern that the regime has laid the groundwork for what should have been our victory to become our defeat instead. This is a trial that fate has brought upon the Georgian people, but I believe we will pass these tests. Bidzina Ivanishvili will be surprised; he will see once again a substantial, peaceful protest that will ultimately lead to his downfall,” Chergoleishvili stated.
