Exhibition of Austrian environmentalist to open at Krtsanisi Park

Austrian Embassy in Georgia, the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN) and the Austrian Development Agency opened an exhibition of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, an Austrian environmental activist at the Krtsanisi Park on the occasion of the World Environment Day.

The exhibition focuses on support of Austria to Georgia in protection of the environment and sustainable use of natural resources.

World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on 5 June and is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

First held in 1974, it has been a platform for raising awareness on environmental issue such as marine pollution, human overpopulation, global warming, sustainable consumption and wildlife crime.

World Environment Day is a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries. At the initiative of the UN, World Environment Day 2021 is held with the slogan: Restoring ecosystem and raising awareness.
