Ex-President Saakashvili warns regime to silence oppositional TV channels while they ignore his social media posts

“There was a time when they only arrested the UNM. Now, they are targeting everyone. Don’t you see that waving your hands at each other on October 4 simply makes Ivanishvili’s job easier,” writes former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili on social media.

Meanwhile, as Saakashvili points out, opposition TV channels continue to ignore his posts.

“Maniacs have arrested Gogi Chakhunashvili, a renowned doctor, a noble man, and a dedicated citizen, the father of one of the most resilient families. They are arresting intellectuals, athletes, all sorts of people. Once, they only targeted the UNM; now, it’s everyone. There was a time when women were untouched; now, many women are political prisoners behind bars. They didn’t pursue family members before; now, they are imprisoning and evicting entire families from their homes. In the past, they showed mercy to the elderly, but now they are subject to relentless persecution. Once, being pro-GD was met with impunity; now, it’s the opposite. Don’t you understand that waving your hands at each other on October 4 only makes Ivanishvili’s work easier?”

Saakashvili continues, “There’s another matter: opposition TV stations have been ignoring my posts all this time. Unfortunately, the regime will soon shut them down entirely, leaving no one to defend them on television. Don’t you see? True strength lies in mutual solidarity and unity.”
