Ex-president Saakashvili claims time for curtsey and lisping over, now is time for decisive action
“We keep repeating that we’re acting within the law. But which law – the one that no longer exists? We must stop this curtsey and quit lisping. Now is the time for firmness and pressure,” former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili declared during his remote court appearance.
According to Saakashvili, the current government is completely illegitimate.
“Right now, between us and our freedom, between us and our survival, stand 4,000 RoboCops (riot police) and special forces officers. People, let us understand this: between us and our future are those 4,000 RoboCops. Yet, are we not far more numerous? That is why we must stop curtsey on sidewalks, fearing to “step on benches.” We keep insisting that we are acting within the law. But which law are we talking about—the one that no longer exists? Which constitution—the one they abandoned long ago? What government do you refer to—how can those who lost the election be considered a legitimate authority?
They are completely illegitimate; they are not a government but rather self-proclaimed, self-declared rulers. Just as they are not law enforcement officers, but rather lawbreakers. So let us cease lisping. Now is the time for resolve and pressure, because the man who did this, who stole your votes, is capable of anything and willing to go to any lengths; every life is in danger.
Behind me on the wall are the falsified ballots, alongside my daughter Alisa’s drawing of a vibrant future. These RoboCops stand between Alisa and her future. This self-proclaimed, self-declared mafia clan that claims to be the government is preventing Alisa from staying in this country,” stated Mikheil Saakashvili.
