“It seems your mistake was not a boycott, but a departure from the Georgian Dream. Your political manoeuvre ultimately involves prioritising personal and party interests over the needs of the people, artificially dividing the opposition in two elections (others also have contributed),” writes Nino Lomjaria, founder of the non-governmental organisation “European Orbit of Georgia”, on social media.
Lomjaria responded to the decision by the “Gakharia for Georgia” party to enter parliament.
“Now you can either bring your party, which has been shaped like a diamond, into parliament or step aside,” she remarks.
The Gakharia for Georgia party has decided to take its seats in Parliament. Giorgi Sharashidze, a member of the party’s political council, stated during a briefing that refusing to use the parliamentary and city council platforms is not merely a mistake, but a crime against the country and its people.
