European Georgia expresses disappointment over unresolved negotiations with Ahali and Lelo
Giga Bokeria, the leader of European Georgia, expressed disappointment regarding the lack of response from the leadership of the political parties Ahali and Lelo concerning unification efforts. He stated that despite their public and private appeals, there has been no feedback from these parties’ leaders.
Bokeria mentioned that the negotiation process has reached a deadlock. He highlighted that studies indicate a growing rating for European Georgia and suggest that the combined results of several opposition centres are better than those of a unified list.
Bokeria emphasized that over 60% of opposition voters do not support a unified list.
“Before learning the results of this study and afterwards, we appealed not only publicly but also privately to the leadership of these political parties. After the initial communication, unfortunately, we have heard nothing from the leaders of these parties. While we hear general announcements on TV, there is no real negotiation process taking place. Many issues need to be clarified quickly so that voters can clearly see the picture. Instead, an impasse has been introduced. We don’t know the reason for this, and we don’t want to speculate. But it is a fact that for us, one of the main criteria for unification was and remains a clear distancing, separation from the Saakashvili-Kezerashvili alliance,” he stated.
