According to the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Hartzell, he would like to personally thank Grigol Vashadze, now the former Chairman of the United National Movement, for being a great politician, a good colleague, and a friend.

The EU Ambassador stressed that Vashadze made the reasons for his resignation rather clear. Hartzell also emphasized the role of Grigol Vashadze during the previous dialogue that led to the 8th March agreement.

“When it comes to Grigol Vashadze’s decision to leave the UNM, you will have to ask him. I think he, in his statement, has made rather clear the reasons for his resignation. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank him personally for being a great politician, a good colleague, and a friend. We spent time together, a lot of time together during the previous dialogue that led us to a successful 8 March agreement to which he contributed tremendously. I’m very sad to see him leaving, but I’m absolutely convinced that we will see more of him in the future. Thank you, Grigol, for these past months,” the EU Ambassador said.

The Charman of the United National Movement Grigol Vashadze resigned from his post on Tuesday. He made this statement on Facebook.
