Emergency Situations Management Service issues fire risk alert amid rising temperatures
As temperatures rise, the Emergency Situations Management Service has issued a warning about an increasing risk of fires. The Service announced that firefighters will be patrolling forests around the clock to prevent incidents.
The alert highlights elevated air temperatures across both western and eastern Georgia, significantly heightening the danger of forest and grassland fires.
“The Emergency Situations Management Service urges the public to exercise the highest civil responsibility. Refrain from lighting fires on agricultural land, near forests, or in fields, and never leave fires unattended. Failure to comply may result in legal measures. If you notice smoke or a fire, immediately contact ‘112,’ the Public Security Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” the statement reads.
