Election banner damage detainee granted bail and released

Tbilisi City Court Judge Davit Kurtanidze granted Megi Diasamidze bail of GEL 2,000 as a preventive measure following her detention on charges of damaging an election banner. She was subsequently released from the courtroom.

For context, Megi Diasamidze faces charges under Article 187 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the damage or destruction of property.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has detained three individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into the incidents that took place on Melikishvili Avenue on September 8 and 9. Two people have been detained on charges related to organised violence, and the third person has been detained on suspicion of damaging or destroying property.
