Education Minister meets with UNDP Regional Director in the United States
Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, is currently on a working visit to the United States, where he met with Ivana Zhivković, UN Under-Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The discussions centred on ongoing projects and future cooperation prospects between Georgia and UNDP.
Special emphasis was placed on advancing vocational education and training programmes, along with strengthening partnerships with UNDP in this area.
Minister Mikanadze expressed his gratitude to Ivana Zhivković for her support of the Georgian education system and reaffirmed his commitment to close collaboration with UNDP in the realisation of the 2026–2030 “Programme Document”.
The significance of the upcoming UN Public Service Forum, scheduled to be held in Georgia this June, was also highlighted.
In response, Ivana Zhivković praised the projects already realised through the partnership with Georgia and assured the Minister of her continued support and readiness for future collaboration.
