Education Minister holds introductory meeting with Israeli Ambassador
Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs Givi Mikanadze hosted Israel’s new Ambassador to Georgia, Walid Abu-Haya, for an introductory meeting.
According to the Ministry, the Minister and Ambassador reviewed issues to further expand Georgia-Israel cooperation in the education and science spheres, and to set future plans. They focused on joint education, research and student exchange proggrammes, accentuating on professional education, including in agriculture sector.
Givi Mikanadze provided the Israeli Ambassador with information about the main directions of the fundamental reform of higher education in Georgia, which was presented to society by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Ambassador thanked the Minister for hospitality and reconfirmed readiness for deepening constructive cooperation between Israel and Georgia.
