Education Minister engages with leaders of Georgian cultural centres and Sunday schools in USA

The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, convened a meeting with the heads of Georgian cultural centres and Sunday schools operating in the states of New York and New Jersey.

According to the Ministry of Education, the Minister outlined the ongoing reforms within the Georgian education system and shared information about initiatives aimed at supporting the diaspora community.

Givi Mikanadze expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the cultural centres and Sunday schools for their dedicated work, emphasising that they serve a cause of national significance, fostering a love for Georgia among children abroad and maintaining vital cultural and emotional ties with the homeland.

During the meeting, the Minister received valuable insights from participants regarding existing challenges and reaffirmed his full support for the continued strengthening of Sunday school activities.

The Consul General of Georgia in New York, Maia Bartaia, also addressed those present.

At the conclusion of the gathering, the Minister presented the attendees with books as tokens of appreciation for their dedication to Sunday school education.
