Economy Minister: Wizz Air continues to cooperate with the Georgian gov't

“Wizz Air does not go anywhere, it continues to cooperate with the Georgian government and remains committed to its customers,” the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava has echoed the information saying that Wizz Air is about to abolish operations at its base in Kutaisi International Airport.

“I want to assure our citizens that Wizz Air is not going anywhere, it feels comfortable in Georgia, continues to cooperate with the Georgian government and remains committed to its customers. Wizz Air has been operating in Georgia since 2012 and the Georgian government has done its best to expand the Wizz Air area. Before coronavirus, it was operating up to 30 flights and then announced another 10 new destinations,” Turnava said.

Natia Turnava noted that she has spoken to Wizz Air and the company will itself confirm it with the public.

Earlier today, United Airports of Georgia has also resonated the information regarding Wizz Air and denied that the Hungarian low-cost airline plans to cancel its operation in Georgia.
