Economy Minister views Tbilisi Outlet Village as “new attraction center”

Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili opened Tbilisi Outlet Village, the first Outlet Village in the Caucasus region, alongside Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

The Minister congratulated the project’s founders and staff on the launch of their activities, emphasizing that the project, with the investment of over 80 million GEL, would employ approximately 250 people.

Mariam Kvrivishvili remarked that Tbilisi Outlet Village served the diversification of sustainable development of the retail sector, and it would attract more international brands in Georgia, contributing to tourism development.

“We view this project as a new attraction center and tourism direction. We are confident that Outlet Village will attract many consumers, both our fellow citizens and international tourists and guests from the region, Europe, and Asian countries.

Outlet Villages are very popular in European countries. We hope that this project will contribute to the increase in revenues from tourism. The country’s policy is based on increasing expenditures from tourism, and, of course, such projects ensure additional revenues for the country’s budget,” she said.

Outlet Village is located near the new international airport to be constructed in Vaziani, the outskirts of Tbilisi.

“I am confident that the concept, location and dimension will ensure the project’s success and Outlet Village will contribute to our country’s economy,” she concluded.
