Economy Minister meets UAE Ambassador, Regional Director of AD Ports Group
Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Georgia, Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed Taher Al Nuaimi and Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Abdulaziz Zayed Al Shamsi.
The discussion focused on priority directions of economic cooperation, especially in transport, logistics and within the framework of Tbilisi Dry Port.
The Minister remarked that Tbilisi Dry Port contributes to the positioning of Georgia as a transport and logistics hub on a regional scale, as well as to the attraction of additional cargoes in the Middle Corridor.
Abu Dhabi Ports Group is the largest investor in Tbilisi Dry Port. The project will be implemented in 3 phases and will expand onto 286 thousand square meters. AD Ports Group has already invested USD 21 million.
The meeting participants touched on the comprehensive economic cooperation agreement, which offers preferential tariffs on experts to Georgian entrepreneurs. The sides agreed to further deepen cooperation in tourism, civil aviation, energy and other sectors.
Deputy Minister of Economy Guram Guramishvili attended the meeting.
