Economy Minister meets energy sector representatives

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili met with representatives of Georgia’s energy sector in an event organized by the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA). The meeting was attended by heads of state agencies, private companies, and independent experts, the Economy Ministry reported.

During the meeting, Minister Kvrivishvili outlined the government’s energy sector development policy, updated goals, and strategies to address existing challenges. She emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation between the state and private sectors in driving sustainable growth.

The Minister presented the agency’s vision, strategy, and action plan, detailing ongoing and planned projects. She highlighted the key priorities of the policy, including the optimization and rehabilitation of energy agencies and projects.

“Our current policy is fully aimed at being efficient, flexible, transparent, and open, so that all sectors, including energy, can develop quickly and sustainably. Today, we have clear visions in several main directions: mass optimization and rehabilitation of energy agencies, as well as optimization of planned and ongoing projects. The resources saved will be directed to projects that strengthen the sector and ensure Georgia’s energy independence and security,” Mariam Kvrivishvili said.

The meeting featured a question-and-answer session, during which the Minister addressed issues related to overdue memoranda and agreements. She assured that the agency is actively working to resolve these issues and support genuine investors and developers.
