Economy Minister is optimistic about renewing and strengthening Georgia–U.S. strategic partnership
“We are optimistic that our relations and strategic cooperation with the United States will be restored and revitalised,” stated Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, following a meeting with Peter Andreoli, a representative of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. The discussion focused on deepening trade and economic ties between the two nations.
“During Andreoli’s visit to Georgia, we had the opportunity to present our plans for the development of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port. He also visited the port’s site, where he became familiar with the current progress and Georgia’s future ambitions for this key project,” the Minister explained.
Kvrivishvili also briefed the U.S. delegation on Georgia’s investment opportunities. The meeting highlighted Georgia’s vital role in the Middle Corridor route, as well as its strategic importance across key sectors of the economy, including energy, transportation, and logistics.
According to the Minister, the meeting with the U.S. representative was highly productive. Georgia reiterated its strong desire and positive outlook for restoring its strategic partnership with the United States, which will significantly bolster trade and economic relations.
“We also discussed the investment opportunities available in Georgia, particularly in major projects like the modernisation of the Georgian Railway, the new international airport, and the Black Sea submarine cable initiative. We remain hopeful that our relationship and strategic cooperation with the United States will be re-established and strengthened,” Mariam Kvrivishvili affirmed.
