Economy Minister: Investor company to train locals for highly qualified positions
“We will oblige Namakhvani HPP investor company to train the locals for high-paid and highly qualified positions”, Minister of Economy Natia Turnava said in Tsageri municipality.
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava and Minister of Environment Protection Levan Davitashvili met locals in Tsageri to answer questions about the Namakhvani HPP construction project on Friday.
“If there is any misconduct or violation in the construction process, we will be strict. All services of the ministry will act in full compliance with the requirements of the law”, Minister of Environment Protection Levan Davitashvili added.
The non-governmental sector sees the agreement between the Georgian government and the Turkish company ENKA Renewables Ltd as favourable for the investor and believes construction poses several risks.
The Georgian government and ENKA Renewables Ltd signed a perpetual build-own-operate agreement back in 2019. ENKA has been awarded the rights to develop, construct, own and operate the Namakhvani HPP Cascade Project in Georgia.
