Economy Minister: Georgian economy demonstrates steady, sustainable growth
“Georgia’s economy is expanding on a stable and sustainable footing,” declared Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, evaluating economic growth indicators for the first nine months of the year.
Kvrivishvili stressed that Georgia continues to maintain peace and a predictable business environment, which she identified as critical factors for domestic and international investors alike.
“The country’s economic strategy is rooted in the diversified and sustainable development of every sector. It is particularly encouraging to observe marked expansion across commercial trade, education, and the IT sector. Transport and logistics are making an exceptional contribution, alongside tourism, despite prevailing regional challenges,” Kvrivishvili stated.
“Crucially, Georgia maintains stability and a predictable operating environment, offering an added incentive for both local and foreign investors to expand their footprint and build businesses here. This momentum naturally reinforces the upward trend in domestic job creation while driving broader economic expansion,” the Vice Prime Minister added.
According to preliminary Geostat estimates, real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 6.0% year-on-year in September 2026, bringing average economic growth for the first nine months of the year to 7.4%.
