“Today we met with the executive management team of Changi Airports International, who have now formally expressed their interest in investing in and operating the new Vaziani Airport,” declared Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili.

According to Kvrivishvili, during the high-level meeting with the Prime Minister, the Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airports International confirmed the company’s readiness to participate in the upcoming tender to be launched by the Government of Georgia.

“The Government of Georgia has taken a momentous decision to construct a new international airport designed to accommodate 20 million passengers. Vaziani Airport will exert a profound and transformative impact on the development of our national economy, transport sector, and tourism industry. Consequently, ensuring the airport becomes fully operational by the end of 2031 stands as an absolute priority for us.

We are seeing immense global interest from renowned brands looking to invest in and manage Vaziani International Airport. Crucially, the sustained expansion of our country’s transport and tourism sectors continues to generate significant interest among major global investors and airport operators to invest in and manage the Vaziani facility,” Kvrivishvili stated.
