Economic welfare of primary significance for people, UNM Chair says

“Economic welfare is of primary significance for our citizens. They should not fear entering a market because of high prices for products,” said Levan Khabeishvili, Chair of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party.

According to the UNM Chair, Georgian people are most concerned about increased prices. In his words, what a consumer would pay for a basket of goods of primary consumption at 55-60 GEL five or six years ago at a supermarket, costs 109 GEL now.

“Economic welfare is the most important for our citizens. They should not fear entering a market or a supermarket because of high prices for products. Ivanishvili, Kobakhidze, Mdinaradze (ruling team leaders) and the GD party are obliged to answer these questions,” he said.
