Dutch FM: Georgian gov't should consider holding new elections

The new elections should be considered by the government in Georgia, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp told reporters in Brussels ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers.

“I believe that new elections need to be considered because the elections took place with an uneven playing field before the elections and many irregularities during the election. So I think new elections should be considered by the government in Georgia, and it’s very important that is taking place. The Netherlands stands with the Georgian people also in their European horizon, and we’ll continue to do that,” said Caspar Veldkamp.
