Draft-project on cultivation of cannabis to be withdrawn from parliament

The draft-project about the cultivation of cannabis for pharmaceutical purposes will be withdrawn from the parliament – Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of Parliament stated.

Kobakhidze and Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Internal Affairs met with Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II to discuss the issue of cultivation of cannabis in Georgia earlier this afternoon.

The draft-project, prepared by the Georgian government, was pending in the parliament. The supreme legislative body was only discussing regulations on consumption of marijuana.
