Dr Tsertsvadze warns of Covid-19 regulations after low vaccination rate

Georgia’s vaccination rate, 4,000-5,000 in a day, is “catastrophic”, said the Head of Infectious Diseases and AIDS Centre Tengiz Tsertsvadze, stressing that “Georgians are sabotaging their health and, ultimately, the country.”

With this rate, Tsertsvadze believes the government will have to impose coronavirus restrictions, leading to “the welfare of the population to dwindle.”

On top of that, the rate of face mask-wearing is low with social or political gatherings, noted Tsertsvade, urging people “to wake up.” He thinks the statements from anti-vax physicians had a “terrible effect.”

Tsertsvadze asserted that doctors spare no effort to treat patients, but this is not enough. “The regulations and monitoring should tighten.” He added that clinics were provided with two new drugs and two more due to arrive shortly.

Earlier today, Georgia reported 4,155 coronavirus cases, 2,507 recoveries, and 40 deaths.
