Deputy Interior Minister: Decision to be made pending confirmation of unrest-planning audio recording’s authenticity
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, has announced that an investigation is currently underway regarding the audio recording released by Imedi TV, in which Paata Burchuladze, leader of the Rustaveli Avenue movement, and Bacho Akhalaia, former minister in Saakashvili’s government, allegedly discuss planning unrest in Tbilisi.
Darakhvelidze stated that, should the authenticity of the recording be verified, an appropriate decision will be taken.
“The investigation is ongoing. If the authenticity of this recording is confirmed, a corresponding decision will be made,” Darakhvelidze affirmed.
Imedi TV has published an
audio recording in which Paata Burchuladze and Bacho Akhalaia are allegedly discussing plans to incite riots in Tbilisi.
