Deputy FM: During GID talks, Russia saw well Georgia not alone

Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia on Wednesday said that today’s round of Geneva International Discussions (GID) showed that “Georgia is not alone. Georgia has the solid backing of its partners, which the Russian Federation witnessed.”

Darsalia deemed today’s round “pretty difficult.”

“Unfortunately, the Russian delegation once again showed a destructive approach to the issues such as the implementation of the 6-point agreement, security provision, and human rights situation, with no desire to ameliorate the situation. Ultimately, like in previous rounds, they left the negotiating table when debating the issue of IDPs. I would want to highlight the solid position of our partner, the United States, and the European Union, as well as all the co-chairs, in the discussions on both humanitarian and security problems,” Darsalia said.
