Deputy Economy Minister: Georgia’s economic growth is twice that of EU candidate countries
“Georgia’s economic growth is twice as high as that of EU candidate countries,” stated Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
“Strong growth persists into 2025. According to data from the first seven months, Georgia’s average growth stands at 8%. Notably, Georgia ranks among the fastest-growing economies in Europe, Asia, and the region. I would also emphasise that our growth rate is double that of EU candidate countries,” Tsintsadze added.
The Deputy Economy Minister stated that the government anticipates these positive trends will not only persist but also strengthen in the years ahead.
The Deputy Minister noted that the International Monetary Fund has raised Georgia’s 2025 growth forecast from 6% to 7.2%. Furthermore, Georgia is projected to achieve the highest growth rate in both the region and the EU between 2025 and 2030.
“This success is due to the prudent and consistent policies of the Georgian government: active infrastructure development, targeted support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and ongoing structural reforms that will boost government efficiency and economic performance,” he concluded.
