Deputy Economy Minister attributes civil aviation growth to government’s strategic economic policies
“The Georgian civil aviation sector has experienced remarkable growth during the first half of 2025. Passenger traffic, flight frequency, and cargo turnover have all reached unprecedented heights,” stated Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
According to the Deputy Minister, Georgian airports welcomed over 3.6 million passengers in the first six months of the year, marking a 14% increase year-on-year. He also highlighted that all three airports have seen a surge in tourist arrivals.
Nadareishvili further emphasised the impressive growth in cargo transportation, noting that approximately 16,000 tons of cargo were processed at Georgian airports in just six months—an extraordinary 50% increase compared to the same period last year.
“All these achievements positively influence the dynamics of Georgia’s tourism industry and are a direct result of the government’s strategic policies and dedicated efforts to enhance Georgia’s connectivity. Our airports are now implementing more flights to major global capital cities, opening new horizons for our country’s economic and cultural integration,” he concluded.
