Javelin, an American man-portable fire-and-forget anti-tank missile system is located at a safe place – Levan Izoria, Georgian Defense Minister stated during the meeting with Ian Kelly, US Ambassador to Georgia.
The first stage of the purchase of the system of Javelin has been successfully completed. According to Izoria, in the near future, the Georgian military servicemen will be able to master the skills necessary to use this system.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Levan Izoria hosted US Ambassador Ian Kelly at the Ministry. Discussions also focused on the projects implemented within the framework of bilateral defense cooperation with the strategic partner – the launch of the Georgian Defense Preparedness Program and prospects of future cooperation.
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Defense Minister Lela Chikovani, US Defense Attaché, Colonel Jeffrey Hartmann, US Embassy Representative James Morris and Head of Defense Cooperation Office (ODC), LTC John Meyers.
