Aleksandre Tabatadze, Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee and member of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Georgian Parliament, stated that the investigation launched by the Prosecutor’s Office regarding the opening of a checkpoint in the village of Chorchana is not directed against any specific individual.

According to Tabatadze, Giorgi Gakharia is not the subject of the investigation.

“The investigation has been initiated under a specific article, not against any person. I also gave a testimony yesterday. Therefore, it cannot be considered a personal investigation,” said Tabatadze.

The leader of the For Georgia party, Giorgi Gakharia, has been summoned again to the commission for questioning concerning the checkpoint’s opening.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has officially launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the establishment of the checkpoint in Chorchana.
