Davit Zalkaliani thanked Mike Pompeo for supporting democracy in Georgia

Grateful to our US friends and partners for their support and engagement in consolidating democracy in Georgia – said Georgia’s Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani.

According to Zalkaliani, the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States has never been as strong as it is today.

“Grateful to our US friends and partners for their support and engagement in consolidating democracy in Georgia. Strategic partnership is as strong as ever. Working together, we’re deepening our robust cooperation in all key areas,” Zalkaliani wrote on his Twitter page.

Mike Pompeo, US Secretary of State commented about Constitutional Amendments approved by the Georgian parliament on June 29.

“We welcome Constitutional Reform approved by Georgia this week. We call on the Georgian parliament for respect of the free will of Georgian people and promise fulfilled regarding the election reform by the Georgian officials,” Pompeo said.
