Davit Sergeenko: All vaccines delivered to Georgia are of high quality

“I call on public not to create negative attitude toward vaccination. Vaccination, as technology, is safe and effective, protects against diseases. All vaccines delivered to Georgia are of high quality”, – Georgia’s Minister of Health Davit Sergeenko made this statement at the press conference held today.

“The spread information about the immunization program, which includes several points, does not correspond to the truth”, – Davit Sergeenko said.

According to him, the Ministry is trying to ensure that all vaccines to be prequalified by the World Health Organization, but if WHO withdraws prequalification, this does not mean that the vaccine is dangerous.

The 29 222 doses of hazardous to health vaccines were used in Georgia within the framework of Immunization Program, – State Audit Service said yesterday.

Later, the State Audit Office released a statement indicating that the State Audit Office does not cast doubt on immunization program, including a vaccine against the rabies.

Paata Imnadze, Deputy Director General of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, denied information that vaccines dangerous for health were used in the immunization program. Imnadze said that the vaccine mentioned by the Audit Office was brought in the country in 2016 in full compliance with the law.
