David Zalkaliani: Congressman Bacon's statement on the report of Republican Study Committee reaffirms that such documents do not represent the official position of US

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, David Zalkaliani, today’s statement by Congressman Don Bacon about the report of Republican Study Committee reaffirms the initial assessment of ruling team that the methodology of the results of such reports is different and it does not represent the official position of the US government.

“The statement made by the congressman will put an end to speculation on this issue. This statement reaffirms that the methodology for compiling such documents is different and does not represent the official position of the US government. This was also very well explained by the US Ambassador to Georgia. In the report there are mutually exclusive theses. On the one hand, there is talk of growing US support for Georgia, as well as the fact that our strategic partnership is at the highest level. On the other hand, there is a sentence that falls out of context. All this once again underlines the specific methodology of compiling such documents, which was also confirmed by Congressman Bacon, ” – said David Zalkaliani.

Congressman Don Bacon, who is one of the signatories to the Republican Study Committee’s report, said today that he did not write the part about Bidzina Ivanishvili. “We have hired technical experts to help us draw up the document,”  – he said.
