David Zalkaliani: Georgia is in US team in fight against Islamic State

Georgia is honored to be a partner of the United States of America and an active member of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. Georgia is making a significant contribution to the fight against global challenges, – Georgian Foreign Minister, David Zalkaliani stated at the meeting of foreign ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. The meeting has been held in Washington, D.C.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, David Zalkaliani spoke about the threats emanating from the “Islamic State” and the mandatory coordinated actions necessary to combat them.

When considering the methods and strategy of countering terrorism, the Minister for Foreign Affairs touched on a number of important aspects.

Speaking about the problems facing Georgia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the situation in the occupied territories and the threats emerging from these territories.
