Daniel Holtgen: We are glad that police ensured the security of rally participants

Daniel Holtgen, Spokesperson for the Secretary General of Council of Europe stated that it is a complimentary fact that police protected the safety of participants of the rally marking the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia.
“We are glad that the rally was held in Tbilisi at the end of the day and the police ensured the security of the participants,” Daniel Holtgen told the First Channel.
Earlier, Daniel Holtgen responded to May 17 developments in Tbilisi on his twitter page. “Authorities need to ensure that all citizens, including LGBTI people, can exercise their rights to take part in peaceful demonstrations whilst being protected from violence”, – he tweeted.
