Czech MFA urges Georgian gov't to release frozen accounts of NGOs 

“We stand with Georgian civil society and urge the Georgian government to halt investigations and release the frozen financial resources,” reads the statement of Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, echoing the decision of Georgian Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the Czech MFA, NGO’s play an indispensable role in every country.

“NGOs play an indispensable role in every country – something Czechia knows from its own experience. We stand with Georgian civil society and urge the Georgian government to halt investigations and release the frozen financial resources,” Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on the X Platform.

On August 27, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, within the framework of an ongoing investigation, decided to freeze bank accounts of seven non-governmental organizations.
