Czech Foreign Ministry: Russia invaded Georgia in 2008, Czechoslovakia in 1968

“August 8, 2008 – Exactly 17 years ago, Russia invaded Georgia. As of August 21, 1968, in Czechoslovakia, the invasion was disguised as fraternal assistance,” wrote the Czech Foreign Ministry on Facebook.

According to the statement, the Czech Republic will continue to support Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“August 8, 2008 – Exactly 17 years ago, Russia invaded Georgia. As of August 21, 1968, in Czechoslovakia, the invasion was disguised as fraternal assistance. We continue to firmly support Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders,” reads the statement.
