The trial of actor Andro Chichinadze, comedian Onise Tskhadadze, and nine others accused of group violence will reconvene on July 11.

Today, two witnesses from the prosecution side provided testimony.

Ioseb Mamalashvili, an employee of TbilServiceGroup, testified about damage inflicted on his company’s property during the Rustaveli Avenue rallies.

“I did not witness the damage firsthand, but saw it on TV. The damaged bins were there when I was on duty. The estimated damage amounts to GEL 147,000,” he stated.

Lawyer Shota Tutberidze suggested that Mamalashvili is not an eyewitness, given his claim of seeing the damage on TV. Prosecutor Vazha Todua noted that questions could be asked about what was seen on television.

Patrol Police officer Mzia Tseradze testified that protesters damaged two police cars valued at GEL 14,000 during the November 29 rally and also claimed to have seen this on TV.

The defence argued that testimony based solely on television viewing was irrelevant.

Tseradze added that she did not know the exact timing of the damage and confirmed that no forensic examination had been conducted on the vehicles.

The prosecution was unable to present representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ press service due to their participation in another event. The defence objected to the delay in the proceedings.
