The court has found Gela Khasaia, a member of Girchi – More Freedom, guilty of disobeying police orders and fined him 4,500 GEL.

Khasaia’s trial proceeded amid verbal confrontations between the parties. The Ministry of Internal Affairs representative protested questions that Khasaia’s lawyer, Teona Zakarashvili, was asking police witnesses. Verbal exchanges also occurred between the lawyer and Judge Nino Enukidze. The lawyer accused the judge of giving suggestive prompts to the police witness, while the judge fined the lawyer 100 GEL for making remarks and using a loud tone of voice.

During today’s session, a total of three witnesses from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the defense were questioned.

Police officer Nika Gogia stated that on December 4, 2024, on Sharashidze Street near the Droa office, Khasaia interfered with police officers’ attempt to detain Nika Gvaramia. Additionally, Gogia claimed Khasaia was blocking the road and refused to comply with police demands.

Gela Khasaia disagreed with the Ministry’s accusations. He stated that the police witnesses gave false testimony.
