Coalition for Change’s Khoshtaria says Georgian people grateful to EU Ambassador
“The Georgian population is grateful to the EU Ambassador, who plays a key role in pursuing our interests. The Russian Dream has to apologize to our partners,” said Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change.
According to Elene Khoshtaria, the statement of the European Union External Action Service (EEAS) “caught” the “Russian Dream” in a lie.
Khoshtaria remarked that the statement highlights unprecedented support toward the Georgian people and, at the same time, disclosed the government’s “Russian nature.”
“The statement says that by speaking about visa-liberalization threats, likewise Russian conspiracy theories, the Russian Dream spreads lies, while our partners directly say that they support Georgia’s territorial integrity and the Georgian people’s European aspirations.
At the same time, I want to condemn the defamatory statements of Kakha Kaladze (Tbilisi Mayor), being Russia’s servant, against our greatest friend, the EU Ambassador, Pawel Herczynski. The Georgian population, the vast majority of which supports Georgia’s EU integration, is grateful to the EU Ambassador. We know the vital role which he plays in pursuing our national interests,” Khoshtaria said.
The statement of the European Union External Action Service (EEAS) published on July 25 reads: “We strongly denounce the personal attacks against the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia. The Ambassador plays a vital role in fostering relations between the EU and Georgia. He enjoys the full trust and support of the EU. We urge all political actors in Georgia to refrain from spreading disinformation, avoid inflammatory personal attacks, and work towards a European future for its population.”
