Coalition for Change's Japaridze says next steps be announced later to throw gov't off balance
“Standing here another day and blocking Melikishvili Avenue lacks purpose, as this isn’t causing them discomfort,” stated Zurab Japaridze, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, during the ongoing protest on Melikishvili Avenue.
He called on the protesters to disperse and noted that during the day or, most likely tomorrow, they would devise something that would come as a surprise.
“The police have now changed their strategy, which involves letting us block Melikishvili Avenue while claiming it’s not a problem. Standing here another day and blocking Melikishvili Avenue lacks purpose, as this isn’t causing them discomfort. We’ll simply get tired and nothing will change, so what we’ve decided is to disperse now, go rest, regroup during the day, and we’ll inform you about our next step and what we’ll do.
Most likely, probably tomorrow, we’ll think of something that will be a surprise and throw them off balance. In our opinion, continuing rallying here now makes no sense, so let’s leave, rest, gather our strength, and then continue all together. Thank you very much, everyone,” stated Zurab Japaridze.
