City Assembly to approve city budget for 2020

Tbilisi Sakrebulo (City Assembly) will approve the city budget for 2020 today. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze will present the draft-document to Sakrebulo members.

The amount of 2020 Tbilisi budget is 1 billion and 21 million GEL. The 317 million are allocated for social needs, 430 million – for infrastructure projects.

The opposition has remarks about the document. They claim that the budget for social projects and transport infrastructure is decreased.

Davit Zhgenti, a member of European Georgia Party claimed that the opposition would not support the document and would not attend the Sakrebulo sitting in protest. “The 2020 city budget does not serve the interests of Tbilisi residents,” Zhgenti said.
