Chinese tourists transferred from Kazbegi to Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases

The 9-member group of Chinese tourists is expected at Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases, The tourists are being transported from Kazbegi mountainous resort.

Locals told Georgian First Channel that the reason for bringing the tourists to Tbilisi became the high body temperature in two Chinese twin children.

Paata Imnadze, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health said that the case did not have anything common with the suspicious novel coronavirus.

According to Imnadze, the Chinese tourists come from the province where the virus is not detected and is located 1300 kilometers away from Wuhan city, which is considered to be the epicenter of virus spread.

The Chinese tourists will be subjected to medical examinations. The group of tourists arrived from Baku to Georgia on January 25. The tourists arrived in Baku from China on January 21.
