Chairman of National Movement faction – Statement of German Ambassador radically differs from statements made by EU and U.S. Ambassadors

Roman Gotsiridze, Chairman of National Movement faction in the parliament said that the statement of German Ambassador radically differed from statements made by EU and U.S. Ambassadors, who called on the ruling party for full fulfillment of March 8 Agreement.

According to Gotsiridze, the issue of Giorgi Rurua, Founder and shareholder of Main Channel, was meant in full fulfillment of the agreement.

“The Ambassadors used a precise word that both points of the agreement had to be fulfilled that means that political persecutions have to be stopped. Giorgi Rurua is a political prisoner for international partners and everybody,” Gotsiridze told Georgian Public Broadcaster.

“Mr. Rurua (Giorgi Rurua, Founder and shareholder of Main Channel) is not mentioned in March 8 Agreement, it is clear and everybody can read it. I am surprised that he became the issue of discussion among the parties,” German Ambassador to Georgia Hubert Knirsch told reporters.
