CEC: Voter turnout for 15:00 at 28.22%

The voter turnout for 15:00 stood at 28.22%, with 991,651 people having cast their ballots, according to Spokesperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Natia Ioseliani.

Ioseliani said at the briefing that five complaints had been submitted to the Precinct Election Commissions.

“The voting is predominantly held in a peaceful and professional environment. Some incidents are observed that will not influence the election process. As for information regarding complaints, even though the parties involved are aware of the procedures for submitting complaints, we hear unsubstantiated accusations.

We would like to explain that filing complaints are possible through corresponding procedures and these procedures should be followed. Five complaints have been submitted to the Precinct Election Commissions related to violations of photo and video recording rules, arrangement of a polling station, and registration of voters outside polling stations,” she said.

Today, on October 4, local self-government elections are being held in Georgia. The voting process began at 08:00 and will conclude at 20:00.

Across the country, a total of 3,061 polling stations are in operation. Of these, voting will be conducted electronically at 2,284 stations and by traditional methods at 777 stations. Twelve political parties are registered for the October 4 elections.

According to CEC Chair Giorgi Kalandarishvili, preliminary results will be available within 2 hours after completion of the voting process.
