CEC hosts 56 election officials from 28 countries
The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia hosted 56 representatives from election administrations of 28 countries ahead of the October 26 parliamentary elections. CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili, along with his deputy and the CEC secretary, provided a detailed overview of election preparations, focusing on the broad use of technology and other key innovations implemented for these elections.
Kalandarishvili highlighted the importance of international cooperation in improving electoral processes,
“It is important that such high representation emphasizes our close collaboration with other election administrations, allowing us to exchange experiences, especially regarding the large-scale use of technology,” he stated.
During the meeting, participants discussed challenges such as disinformation and technology audits for compliance. Kalandarishvili also presented the interim report on the election process, emphasizing transparency and the administration’s efforts to meet international standards.
