The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia has solved the case of armed robbery on the branch office of “Bank of Georgia” that took place on March 8 in Tbilisi.
Mamuka Chelidze, Deputy Director of the Central Criminal Police Department at the MIA, said at a briefing on Tuesday that two individuals – previously convicted N.K. (DoB 1998) and another previously convicted person – K.G. (DoB 1999) have been detained for committing a gang robbery, committing an assault on a police officer, illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearm and for illegal deprivation of people’s liberty.
The crime envisages from 7 to 10 years of imprisonment. “An investigation has opened into the facts of a gang robber, illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearm, illegal deprivation of people’s liberty and for committing an assault on a police officer under Provision II, Sub-provision “B” Article 179, Provision II and IV of Article 236, Provision III, Sub-provision “A” and “C” Article 134, Provision I, Article 353 (I) of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” Chelidze said.
