Bread price may increase by 20 Tetri

Chairman of the Bread Producers Union Malkhaz Dolidze expects the bread price to increase by 20 Tetri.

Dolidze announced at the press conference that the cost is likely to be revised if wheat flour is imported from Russia at the increased price.

Georgia produces the wheat flour that meets 10-15% of its domestic demand, the rest is imported. Other components are also imported. The price for one sack of the flour was 65-70 GEL, now it went up to 75 GEL.

The cost of the flour of the local production is 80 GEL. Taxes, eclectic power, natural gas, water, wages and distribution are also fixed in prices, Dolidze explained.
